The variant of the classic model is proposed in Airtex fabric and stands out for the great versatility of the openings: this roof tent can boast a large rear window that has numerous customizations and allows you to enjoy the ventilation and light you want, without give up the necessary privacy.
The modularity of the openings combined with the additional features of Columbus Variant will allow you to savor all the pleasures of life in the open air, without ever giving up all the comfort of the best roof top tents on the market, the original Autohomes that have made camping history extreme.

Like all the car awnings in the range, Columbus Variant is also made with high quality materials that guarantee resistance and comfort. The fiberglass shells combine qualities such as strength and lightness in a single material, easy to wash and to repair in case of damage (however unlikely); AIRTEX® fabrics offer maximum impermeability with an excellent degree of breathability, for nights that are always dry and comfortable. In Columbus car roof top tents, everything contributes to an excellent product.

The shells are made according to an accurate artisan technique that offers the best guarantees: a quality structure, compact and removable over time, not comparable to common plastics or similar products on the market. Furthermore, the glass fiber polyester keeps the internal environment more isolated from heat and cold, is easy to clean and allows the use of aggressive products.

fabrics - The Columbus roof tent series adopts Airtex®, a high-end fabric produced in Germany. It is a highly waterproof fabric with a water vapor transmission degree of 440 g/m2724 hrs.

Columbus becomes a comfortable container during travel. The particular design allows you to store travel accessories, sheets, sleeping bags, personal effects, all in a safe place.

Standard: 2 internal safety blocks to resist the most violent gusts of wind (with the blocks inserted the awning does not close).

Standard: 2 handy storage pockets inside, each on each side.

Standard: 2 doors on both sides with internal roll-up mosquito nets; these openings are transformed into comfortable windows by means of specially arranged circular hinges.

The aluminum ladder takes up minimal space: it can be folded up for travel or taken out during the night.

Light alloy ladder, adjustable in height with automatic locking. Ladder bag included.

Lamp with 3 ultra-bright LEDs, 3x1.5V batteries included.

Convenient storage net placed in the upper part inside, to arrange sleeping bags, towels and personal effects.

In the closing phase, the elastic tie rods supplied, which can be activated manually with comfortable clips, facilitate the folding of the fabric inside the shell. Well arranged elastics, not sewn directly on the fabrics, they do not generate "ruffles" or curls on the fabric, they do not damage it; so as to avoid infiltrations and aesthetic imperfections on the tent. This arrangement facilitates the closing of the awning even on very tall vehicles.

Optional: Kit Fix (Art. K/F) The Small and Medium models are designed for hooking up additional roof bars (to place surfboards, kayaks and various accessories). Not available in X-Long versions

Novelty! SUNSHADE: so comfortable that we wanted it "as standard"

The original retro-curtain awning is now standard on all our Variant models. Sunshade instantly transforms the tailgate into a very useful additional protection. Its structural reliability is further guaranteed by the arched poles integrated into the fabric. This choice makes it possible to overcome the problems of traditional studs applied under pressure, which can cause tears in the fabric where they are placed in the event of high stresses such as gusts of wind.
